Overview


Shippeo, founded in 2014, is the leader in supply chain visibility. The company provides logistics players with real-time access to information on every delivery.

Shippeo is in a hyper-growth phase thanks to a $32 million fundraising in January 2021. They've grown from 150 to 250 employees in 12 months and have ambitions to double in size by next year.



Challenge


With the rapid growth of the company, onboarding became problematic as it was very manual and managed by only one person for the 3 European offices. 

Some of the onboarding was managed by the office managers in a task management tool (badges, computers, teleworking equipment, some IT resources), the rest - and in particular access to specific IT resources - was managed manually by the managers.


Solution


First of all, Pyla made it possible to identify all the resources used in the company.

We then built together the employee profiles with, for each, the list of associated resources. Shippeo can now answer the famous "Who has what?An essential step for understanding the environment and implementing Pyla.

By establishing attribution rules for each asset, onboarding, and consequently offboarding, is now structured and automated. The preparation of equipment, applications, badges, furniture... everything is taken into account in the tool.

Today with Lucca synchronization, office managers no longer have to enter employee information at onboarding. HR fills in the employee's fields in Lucca, the information is then synchronized in Pyla and the tasks are automatically sent to the resource administrators at : 

  • IT for the management of computer equipment and certain business software (email, CRM, etc.)
  • Office Management for the preparation of badges
  • Finance/HR for administrative solutions
  • the businesses concerned for specific solutions 

 

Each administrator has a view on the requests related to the resources he manages.

The employee's manager can also track the progress of requests in Pyla to ensure that the new employee will have everything on the day of arrival.

Another benefit described by Shippeo is cost control because the number of licenses allocated is controlled. Intermediary validations have been set up for some resources representing large budgets, and not all employees automatically have a use for them.
